Kemper Award presented to Mark Chertoff

Mark Chertoff, PhD, Associate Professor in the KU department of Hearing and Speech, is presented the Kemper Award by University of Kansas Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - During a recent departmental meeting, Mark E. Chertoff, PhD, Associate Professor in the KU department of Hearing and Speech, was notified that he had won the prestigous William T. Kemper Award for Teaching Excellence.  A convoy comprised of KU leaders, including Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little, KUMC Executive Vice Chancellor Barbara Atkinson, MD, and Senior Vice Chancellor and Dean of the KU School of Health Professions Karen L. Miller, PhD, made the presentation.  The news, as well as the visit from university leadership, came as a surprise to Chertoff.

The annual awards, supported by the William T. Kemper Foundation and KU Endowment, are given each year to outstanding teachers and advisers at KU.  Recipients also receive a $7,500 award.
